London fashion supplier expands via seven-figure HSBC UK funding package

London based fashion supplier Jel Direct has received a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK to acquire new commercial premises for its first warehouse.

Jel Direct specialises in offering what it describes as “cutting-edge outerwear at competitive prices” to high street retailers in the UK and Europe.

Breaking into the UK market with its own brand, Jel Direct has recently launched a new online women’s clothing store, Double Second, which has enjoyed “great success” since its inception.

Having significantly increased operations, Jel Direct has now used the funding from HSBC UK to invest in a new 5,500 sq ft unit to use as its first warehouse, as well as a showroom for its new brand and a second office.

Emily Cheung, founder of Jel Direct, commented: “I’m delighted to be expanding the business with the launch of our UK-based clothing brand. I’m extremely grateful for the support from HSBC UK and in particular, our Relationship Manager Abdul Rehman.

“The team has been instrumental in enabling us to begin working on our future growth plans to break into international markets.”

Chris Chambers, area director for business banking at HSBC UK, added: “We’re pleased to be supporting with the launch of the Double Second clothing brand following incredible success for Jel Direct. We look forward to continuing to support the business’s future growth strategy.”
