This week’s Yorkshire appointments

This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes CBRE, Altitude and Spike Digital. Read on to find out more.

Global real estate advisor CBRE has welcomed its latest influx of emerging talent with three new graduates joining the Leeds office. The trio will support the team to bring fresh ideas and inspiration.

Clare Hill (MSc Real Estate Management and Development) at Herriott Watt University; Bethan Williams (BA (Hons) French and Linguistics) at University of Leeds and Matt Giloney (MSc Real Estate) at University of Sheffield have been recruited to the team on the company’s graduate training programme which starts in the Autumn.

Clare and Bethan have already joined, assisting the Rating and Investment Property teams prior to the start of the graduate scheme. The new graduate intake is reflective of CBRE’s leading market position and ongoing success which continues to attract new talent to the industry.

Michael Porter, senior director, CBRE Leeds Valuation team, commented: “We are delighted to welcome this year’s intake of talented and enthusiastic graduates to the team.

Rachel Measures, Altitude

Yorkshire PR agency Altitude, part of communications specialist Counter Context, has hired PR account manager Rachel Measures.

Rachel has worked in the PR and events sector since graduating with a Masters degree in Public Relations from Sheffield Hallam University in 2019. She joins the team as the young agency continues to grow its portfolio.

Altitude has gone from strength to strength since launching in February and now counts Henry Boot Construction, Kirklees Council, Mattress Online, Sheffield Chamber, British Glass, developer RBH and Barnsley Museums among its clients.

PR Director Jane Whitham commented: “We’re an ambitious PR agency working with ambitious businesses. Rachel joins us with previous agency experience and knows the Sheffield business community well. We’re very pleased to welcome her to the team.”

Rachel added: “I am delighted to begin the next chapter of my career with Altitude and the wider Counter Context team. They have a fantastic reputation in shouting about the amazing things that businesses and organisations in the region are doing. I’m super excited to get stuck in and start working with our clients with this in mind.”

Matt Wilkinson and Tom Nelson, Spike Digital

Leeds based digital marketing agency Spike has hired paid media specialist Matt Wilkinson to become the new head of paid media and promoted Tom Nelson to Head of SEO to lead the agency’s SEO team.

After working in digital marketing agencies for over 12 years, Matt joins Spike as head of paid media with a “wealth” of paid media knowledge. With previous experience as head of campaign performance at Fusion Unlimited and working in-house for the past four years, Matt has an “abundance” of digital marketing knowledge to bring to the Spike team.

Matt commented: “With over a decade spent working in digital agencies before moving client-side I never saw myself moving back to an agency role. After speaking with Spike’s directors, Rob Powell and Duncan Colman, it was easy to see that coming back agency-side with Spike was a good move.

After nearly three years at Spike, former SEO Manager, Tom Nelson, now oversees an expanded team of SEO specialists as the agency’s new head of SEO. Spike has recently expanded its SEO offering across Technical SEO Audit, Trend Analysis and Migration.

Tom is looking to grow the agency’s SEO offering further by leading the team in top-class client delivery, whilst also developing thought leadership through short webinars hosted on the agency’s digital platforms.

Tom added: “With the SEO team growing due to excellent client wins, I’m excited to develop my management skills and look after a bigger team of SEO specialists. Although my day-to-day role won’t change so much, we are actively recruiting so managing a bigger team will be the next challenge for me.”
