Clarion maintains ranking as top law firm for a whole year in ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’

Leeds law firm Clarion is celebrating after maintaining the highest level of accreditation of three stars in the prestigious ‘UK’s 100 Best Companies to Work For’ throughout 2022.

Assessed through quarterly employee engagement surveys, Clarion was once again ranked as the best law firm to work for in the UK – an accolade it has achieved in every quarter of this year. Clarion has also maintained the position of number 2 large corporate to work for in the UK, and is one of the top three companies of any size to work for in Yorkshire.

Confirmation of Clarion’s rankings were made at the Best Companies to Work For awards event in London on Thursday 3rd November. Organisations gathered in their hundreds to find out from host, TV presenter Dan Walker, who had made it on the final lists of the Best Companies to Work For in the UK for 2022.

The UK’s 100 Best Companies to Work For awarded the accolades to Clarion due to the ‘world-class employee engagement’ of its 295-strong team. A standard of excellence for UK businesses, the initiative assesses workplace engagement and measures it against the rigorous Best Companies Index score, which covers factors such as leadership, wellbeing and personal growth, in order to celebrate and showcase outstanding employers.

Joint managing partner Roger Hutton said: “To have achieved these rankings in just one quarter of 2022 would be an amazing achievement, but to top the national league tables in every quarter of 2022 is simply stellar. This is what you get when you harness the passion and power of exceptional people, all working towards a common goal of providing the highest levels of service to our clients. Our people feel valued, and they feel that they belong, and this national recognition is the result of embedding our unique Clarion culture at the heart of everything we do.”

Head of People Helen Saunders added: “At Clarion, we want colleagues to be happy in their work, confident in their career progression and able to balance their work and home lives; this is at the heart of our business – be it through employee events, team-building activities or learning and development initiatives. We are extremely proud to be recognised for our efforts, by our team themselves, through this accreditation.”

With a turnover of almost £28m and 30 partners, Clarion has continued to achieve high levels of employee engagement and strong colleague retention. Its supportive culture is demonstrated in many ways including by excellent communications, innovative CSR activities with community partners, the provision of mentoring and coaching opportunities to support career development, regular employee engagement feedback forums and its award-winning BeingWell programme.
