Newcastle recruitment specialist helps upskill hundreds of Husqvarna employees

North East based recruitment and training specialist, GEM Partnership supports Husqvarna UK with the upskilling of 290 employees.

To futureproof the company and bolster its operations through a multi-skilled workforce, Husqvarna UK invested in upskilling employees through its recruitment & training partner, GEM Partnership.

To further strengthen the employees’ skills, GEM Partnership’s training team worked closely with Husqvarna to design a training programme which focused on Lean Manufacturing techniques and incorporated Husqvarna’s key processes and procedures.

Established in 2009, GEM Partnership provides total workforce solutions which deliver “tangible results” for its clients. The company is an “experienced and trusted” training provider and offers a range of training solutions to unlock the potential of a businesses’ workforce.

This includes the development of apprenticeship programmes which can be tailored to meet the unique needs of a business and can extend to include full training programme oversight.

GEM Partnership’s training specialists delivered three different training programmes: a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing, Level 2 Lean Organisation Management Techniques and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths. The programmes strengthened the employees’ knowledge in these areas and enabled them to put their new skills into practice.

Maria Miller, operations director at GEM Partnership, commented: “We really value our long standing relationships with our clients and see ourselves as an extension of their team. We have been working alongside Husqvarna UK for five years and during this time have attracted and advanced hundreds of employees.

“This particular project involved our team training and upskilling almost 300 people which is a great achievement for all involved. At GEM Partnership, we work with our clients to build the right training programme for their business and employees.

“This is the second upskilling training programme we have successfully delivered for Husqvarna, the first programme was delivered last year and saw 130 employees trained. We are delighted to continue to support them in ensuring they have the workforce and skills they need to meet their business objectives.”

Dan Wilkinson, manufacturing manager at Husqvarna, added “The training provided by GEM Partnership is tailored and focused to meet the needs of both the business and the individual.

“The trainers really do understand people and how to get the most from the course conten. Being close to our business, also means that they understand the types of challenges we experience and are able to reflect these in real time situations/scenarios.”
