YouSpotProperty.com wins national award for tackling empty homes

A company responsible for ‘rescuing’ the highest number of long term empty and derelict homes around England, by placing them back into use, has secured a national award for its achievement – presented by Rob Rinder, criminal barrister and well-known TV personality.

YouSpotProperty.com won the category of Best Service Provider at the 2023 Probate Research Awards – which recognises organisations across the legal industry that help track down family members when individuals die without a will (known as ‘intestate’).

For more than a decade, YouSpotProperty.com has been partnering with public, by rewarding them for tipoffs of empty and derelict homes affecting their neighbourhoods - which the firm goes on to buy and place back into use. The firm has been profiled by nearly every national newspaper in Britain for its success in bringing back into use empty property, most of which are wrecks and often deadlocked in probate.

YouSpotProperty.com co-director, Nick Kalms, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been given this accolade from the legal industry for the support we provide back to local communities looking to solve the issue of long term empty homes. Our work is both rewarding and fascinating while providing a valuable service to local authorities looking to maximise housing while dealing with eyesore properties blighting communities.”

Now in its fifth year, the Awards unofficially known as “The Probies” was hosted by criminal barrister and TV personality, Rob Rinder, judged competing probate solicitors and heir hunters of all sizes across the UK, and globally, on service, client success and exceptional cases. The awards also evaluated will writing, deputyship and paralegal rising stars, in addition to support services to industry such as household clearance and probate property specialists.
