Water engineering company uses HSBC funding at new £30m plant

London wastewater management company, Hydrasyst, has used a six-figure equipment finance loan from HSBC UK to invest in state-of-the-art machinery.

The funding follows a collaboration between Hydrasyst and one of the UK’s largest providers of linen and laundry services, on a 46,000 sq. ft. £30m plant in Crawley.

Utilising its patented ceramic membrane filtration technology, Hydrasyst will establish the infrastructure that underpins the wastewater management system of the new plant, with the HSBC UK funding used to procure equipment, including ceramic membrane and stainless-steel tooling.

In addition, Hydrasyst will be hiring 10 people locally and providing them with training to operate and maintain the new system. The funding will also support community programs to raise awareness about the positive benefits of wastewater management on the environment.

Kyle Wolff, managing director at Hydrasyst said: “While the Crawley site is a significant milestone, our vision extends beyond this project, with the aim of introducing Hydrasyst to similar sites across the UK and world, cementing our position as a leader in water technology and carbon reduction.

“HSBC UK’s funding has been pivotal in enabling this partnership and with the bank’s support, this project is the first step in our journey towards becoming a leader in sustainable wastewater solutions.”

Campbell Chisholm, relationship manager at HSBC UK, added: “We’re delighted to be able to support Hydrasyst as the business invests further in research and development to ensure wastewater is managed and recycled effectively.”

Hydrasyst designs and manufactures wastewater recovery equipment, with its PurePulse technology lowering daily wastewater discharge by up to 70 per cent and preventing thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions every year. The Hydrasyst Group was established in 2007 and is a recognised industry leader in water filtration and recycling for the textile industry.
