Kate Garraway to host seventh annual Probate Industry Awards
“The Probies” or The Probate Industry Awards - now in its seventh year - has confirmed broadcaster Kate Garraway will host the annual event on 24 April at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London. This is set to be the largest Probies to date since its inception in 2019.
Supporting families
Created to pay tribute to, and recognise outstanding work around probate, the Probies evaluates professionals in forensic genealogy or ‘heir hunting’, probate law and the multitude of service providers contributing to helping families successfully wind-up estates when individuals pass away.
The breadth of activity around probate entails tracing long-lost family members, confirming beneficiaries, complex and multifaceted legal processes, to clearing out long-abandoned homes, liquidating assets in addition to will writing and estate planning - among many related practices and services.
Human interest stories
Supported by an independent judging panel of solicitors, regulators and authoritative industry voices, the Probies is renowned for bringing to the fore, heart-warming and often inspirational stories of human interest – all about families, which has often attracted the attention of national media.
Kate Garraway returns
Following her well-received presence hosting of the Probies in 2024 will see the return of Kate Garraway who recounted her own personal experience of going through probate last year.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Kate has become an integral part of the British broadcasting landscape from her early days at ITV News Central to her roles at ITV News Meridian, the BBC 24-hour News Channel, and Sky News Sunrise. Kate’s transition to morning television, hosting GMTV and later becoming one of the main hosts on Good Morning Britain, has made her a familiar and much-loved personality across Britain’s TV screens.
Inspired by stories
Created by publicist David Stoch, founder of Meerkat PR the public relations firm, in recognition of the role probate research plays in generating stories of national interest, The Probies has been made possible by Probate.Auction, the UK’s first online auctioneer dedicated to selling probate properties for estates and beneficiaries, in addition to Finders International, the global heir hunting firm.
Further support to the Probies comes from Provira, Pro-Gen Research Limited MoveWithUs Premier Solicitors, Just Clear, Octopus Legacy, PS Group and The Estate Registry.
