Muse unveils 'once-in-generation' town plans
A developer has unveiled plans for a “once-in-a-generation” 1600-home town centre scheme.
Muse has submitted a blueprint to transform Solihull’s Mell Square.
Bosses say the development would “improve the town centre offer and diversify the local economy”.
They add the scheme would include 1600 homes – including build-to-rent and affordable properties – as well as shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and public spaces.
Solihull Council is set to make a decision on the plans later this year.
Lisa Turley, Muse development director, said: “This is an important milestone, and we look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the council and others.
“We’ll continue to work closely with established businesses, tenants and residents as the process develops, to minimise disruption and shape the next steps.”
Councillor Ian Courts, Solihull Council leader, added: “This ambitious redevelopment is a once-in-a-generation opportunity and has the potential to bring huge benefits to the wider borough in terms of new jobs, investment and training opportunities.
“We look forward to reviewing the detailed proposals as we enter the next stage of the planning process.”
