Balderton housing scheme building momentum

A Nottinghamshire housing scheme is gathering pace as work continues on a “flagship” development in Balderton.

Lovell and Platform Housing Group are delivering 309 homes on the site of the former FlowServe factory, following “landmark funding” from the East Midlands Combined County Authority’s brownfield funding programme.

The development will feature 138 affordable homes across rent, rent-to-buy and shared ownership options, alongside 171 homes for open-market sale.

The affordable homes will use air source heat pumps, while Lovell’s properties will come with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.

The plans also include landscaped green space, new trees and a children’s play area.

Beth Bundonis, regional managing director at Lovell in the East Midlands, said: “Bringing forward new communities and transforming formerly underused sites like the old FlowServe factory is what we do best, so we’re pleased to see strong progress at Balderton Rise.

“Its prime location offers greater choice for local house hunters seeking modern, efficient homes with easy access to cities like Nottingham and Lincoln, as well as London.”

Michael Baggett, director of land and partnerships at Platform, added: “We are thrilled to see how things are progressing.

“These new homes will help us continue to make strides in our commitment to tackling the housing crisis.

“Together, Platform and Lovell are working to create sustainable communities, ensuring people and families have access to a safe, affordable place to call home.”
