Education provider boosts estate with building work
An independent education provider is bolstering its estate after securing financial support.
Royal Russell School is building a new nursery and junior school.
Officials say the hub will cater for about 400 pupils and will include dedicated early years classrooms.
They add the base – which is being supported by a “significant funding arrangement” from NatWest – will also feature an outdoor play area, science laboratory, art and design suites and a junior school library.
The building is set to open in September 2026.
Chris Hutchinson, headmaster at Croydon-based Royal Russell School, which oversees 1300 pupils between the ages of three and 18, said: “Our new junior school building will enhance the educational opportunities of our younger pupils.
“We have worked closely with the NatWest team on this project, and they understand what we want to achieve as a school.”
Kevin Matthams, NatWest relationship director, added: “The new junior school building will provide a fantastic space for pupils to learn and grow.
“Having the right educational environment is essential for children’s development, and we were delighted to support Royal Russell School.”
