‘Exciting partnership’ to mentor future lawyers
A North West law firm is set to support student career development.
Farleys Solicitors has partnered with the University of Lancashire to launch a 12-month career mentoring scheme.
The initiative will see a number of the firm’s partners actively involved in guiding students through their studies and early career experiences.
Participants will benefit from mentoring, mock tribunals and summer vacation schemes, providing practical insight into the legal profession.
Officials say the collaboration is the first of its kind for the University of Lancashire and aims to give students hands-on experience and real-world support as they prepare to enter the legal sector.
Stephen Bolton, business development manager at Farleys, said: “We’re thrilled to announce this exciting new partnership with the University of Lancashire.
“Farleys has built a fabulous reputation over many years, recruiting graduates and providing them with a platform to grow and succeed within the firm.
“We are a people-led business, built on reputation and culture, ensuring we deliver outstanding results for our clients.
“And that remains key to our core values, as we continue our exciting growth journey.
“We’ll be supporting the students through a wide range of bespoke initiatives, all designed to add real value to their overall learning and development.”
Stephen Greenwood, partner and commercial property solicitor at Farleys, added: “Clients value ‘Farleys People’.
“People who are accessible, direct and down to earth in approach, whilst at the same time highly trained and proficient in their areas of expertise.
“There is fantastic ability amongst local students and we want to build relationships with them, teach them how we work, and support them from the earliest stage of their career to help them achieve their ambitions.”
Linda Chadderton, director of professional legal education at the University of Lancashire, added: “We are thrilled to announce the collaboration between the University of Lancashire and Farleys Solicitors.
“Through this mentoring initiative, students will gain invaluable insights into the legal profession, bridging the gap between academic study and real-world practice.
“Farleys’ experienced legal professionals will provide tailored guidance, helping students build confidence, develop practical skills and make informed decisions about their future careers.
“This partnership exemplifies the University of Lancashire’s commitment to employability and student success, and we are proud to work alongside a firm that shares our vision for nurturing the next generation of legal talent.”
