Markel Law strengthens Leeds casualty team
Markel Law, the independent SRA-authorised legal services business within Markel Group Inc., has expanded its Leeds-based casualty team with the appointment of three experienced solicitors: Tom Xu and David Mould as associates, and Rob O’Connor as senior associate.
Tom brings nearly a decade of experience in both claimant and defendant personal injury litigation, with expertise representing Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and handling complex high-value claims.
David, who qualified in 2018, joins with over ten years’ experience in defendant civil litigation, having worked in-house at international insurers and managed complex multi-track claims.
Meanwhile, Rob, also a solicitor since 2018, has over 12 years’ experience defending pre-litigated and litigated claims, specialising in psychiatric injury cases and expanding into sexual abuse, discrimination and professional negligence claims.
The casualty team, established three years ago, continues to grow and was recently recognised as a ‘Firm to Watch’ in Legal 500 2026.
