Builder seeks to expand book with 70-home plans
A housebuilder has submitted plans for a 70-property scheme.
Bellway hopes to create a Cheshire estate.
The firm says the venture – earmarked for Alderley Edge – would include two to five-bedroom homes, with nearly half built as affordable housing.
It adds homes would be fitted with solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and low-carbon heating.
Cheshire East Council is set to decide on the application in the coming weeks.
The blueprint has been submitted by Newcastle-headquartered Bellway’s Strategic Land division.
Sebastian Burrow, Bellway Strategic Land director for the North West, said: “Our proposals would create an integrated extension to Alderley Edge, as well as providing more housing choice for people in the local area.”
The plans come just days after Bellway pressed ahead with proposals for a 134-property scheme on the outskirts of Stockport.
They also follow Bellway notching higher sales, though the firm has warned the ongoing Middle East conflict could knock its progress.
