Emotional and Behavioral disorder, also abbreviated as EBD is a psychiatric condition which has affected more than 2 million American students. The students who suffer from this condition are often categorized as individuals with disabilities.The disorder is sometimes associated with schizophrenia, but that is not the case for every individual, as some might just be victims of social issues, especially post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD). Connecting with the students
Students with EBD often have disorders which have different characteristics and criteria. In an attempt to connect with these students, the teachers must often look to evaluate the needs of these students in an attempt to establish adaptive teaching techniques. A conflict between teachers and students can lead to a learning problem which may result in poor academic performance in examinations, misconduct and aggressive behavior with their peers. In order to support them, the teacher must realize the needs of such students.
EBD is not an unmanageable disorder. Students with this condition require special attention and care rather than isolation. Isolating such individuals only takes them into a negative spiral which could prove to be very dangerous for them and the people around them.
