Business services firm Peninsula to help students enhance employability with Salford Uni partnership

North West business services provider Peninsula has struck a new partnership with the University of Salford.

The agreement will see Peninsula create opportunities for Salford students to undertake undergraduate and post graduate placements, internships and live projects at the firm’s Manchester HQ.

Peninsula, which offers employment law, HR, health and safety and EAP services, said the aim of the partnership is to give students practical opportunities to enhance their employability as part of their university programme.

The deal kicked off earlier this week (May 1) with Salford Business School graduates and students invited to a Salford Business School Insights and Networking event featuring a talk delivered by Alan Price, who one studied at Salford University and now serves as Peninsula’s operations director.

Alan said: “Peninsula is proud to be supporting Salford in its drive to provide students and graduates with great career opportunities which will leave them with the right professional skills for employment.

“We believe the opportunities and expertise Peninsula can offer as a company will make a real difference.”

Peninsula have a strong connection with the University with numerous Alumni now working for the company.

Salford Business School lecturer Dr Jonathan Lord commented: “This partnership will provide great opportunities for our students to get hands-on experience in a real world business before they enter the jobs market.

“The experience they gain will give them an edge in what is an increasingly competitive sector.”

He continued: “Peninsula have a proven track record of continually training and developing their staff members, which is why they are highly regarded within their sector and therefore will provide strong visibility for our students once they have undertaken placements or internships there.”
