National law firm plots Manchester expansion with 50 new jobs

Law firm Browne Jacobson has unveiled plans to create more than 50 jobs in Manchester.

The company, which moved its North West team to No.1 Spinningfields last month, is looking to double its Manchester headcount to more than 100 within the next five years.

The recruitment drive follows an uptick in revenues for the national firm, which pulled in a turnover of £66.8m in the 12 months to April 30 2017, up 52% in five years.

Browne Jacobson’s Manchester office achieved revenues of £3.8m in 2016/17.

Partner Kerren Daly said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the firm as we settle into our new home.

“We have welcomed a number of highly skilled partners with exceptional pedigree over the last 12 months and are confident that this will provide us with the platform required to achieve our ambitious growth targets.”

She continued: “So far, our expansion has been driven organically, starting with strong levels of activity across health, public sector, property and education and then building on that through our commercial practice with specialisms like employment.

“We will continue to focus on strengthening these core practice areas, while also identifying new ways in which to develop our business in order to support our clients and their needs.”

Browne Jacobson employs 970 staff across offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Exeter.
