Engineering and technical recruitment firm Jackson Hogg has appointed Jo Rawlinson as senior HR consultant.

With over 7 years of experience in the recruitment industry, Jo has worked with clients across both private and public sectors, also attaining her CIPD qualification and associate membership.

Richard Hogg, managing director of Jackson Hogg, commented: “Jo is an excellent addition to the Jackson Hogg team and brings with her a wealth of experience in the HR industry.

Craig Swinhoe, Omega Plastics Group

Gateshead-based firm Omega Plastics Group has appointed Craig Swinhoe as group managing director.

Taking over from Dave Crone, who will move into the role of executive chair, Craig will be overseeing operations throughout the group.

Joining from Quantum Pharma where he was group managing director, Craig has a range of experience leading businesses and executing group strategy, as well as 15 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer and partner, at two of the North East law firms, most recently as a partner at Muckle LLP.

Commenting on his new appointment, Craig said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to this role during an exciting period at Omega Plastics Group,” Craig commented.

“The move to Team Valley earlier this year and the opportunities that this has afforded the group already in the form of new contract wins has been absolutely fantastic. It is my job now to harness this success and work with the fantastically talented teams at Omega Plastics and Signal Plastics to build on the momentum.”

Former group managing director Dave Crone added: Craig already has a good feel for the heartbeat, key drivers, markets and people within the business.

“His vast experience including leading another multi-site manufacturing business and his background and skillset will bring an exciting new dynamic to the group.”

Andrew Hodgson OBE, AVID Technology Group

Automotive cleantech firm AVID Technology Group has appointed Andrew Hodgson as non-executive chairman.

Andrew has held various senior positions in a range of engineering businesses, including Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD), Spirit Aerosystems, Airbus and BAE Systems. He is also the Chairman of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and received an OBE for his services to manufacturing and the regional economy in 2015.

Ryan Maughan, managing director of AVID Technology, said: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Andrew to the AVID team. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his highly successful career building and scaling high growth technology focused businesses.

Jonathan Delaney and Sophie McElderry, Ryecroft Glenton (RG)

Newcastle-based financial firm Ryecroft Glenton (RG) has promoted two members of its specialist teams.

Jonathan Delaney has been promoted from qualified audit senior to audit and assurance manager and Sophie McElderry has been promoted from a member of the outsourced services team to payroll senior.

Jonathan joined RG as an ACA trainee in 2012 and obtained a First Class honours degree in accounting from Northumbria University.

Jonathan said: “At RG, a firm with a particular strength in both audit and also assurance services, such as transactional due diligence, I have been encouraged to develop a broad skillset.

“In my new role as Audit & Assurance Manager, I am looking forward to continuing to develop my career and contributing to the success of our corporate clients.”

Sophie joined the accounts & outsourced services division in December 2016, with her promotion opportunity arising as a result of the continued growth of the payroll department.

Sean Brown and Jenny McNamee, St. James’ Park

Newcastle United football grounds, St. James’ Park, has appointed two new hires to its catering, hospitality and events team.

Sean Brown has been appointed as catering services director, and Jenny McNamee has been appointed as meeting and events sales manager.

In his new role, Sean will head the Sodexo management team in delivering catering and events services at Newcastle United.

With experience in sales and hospitality including previous roles at Tyneside leisure outlets and Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light stadium, Jenny will be responsible for driving new business to the stadium and increasing its event bookings.

Venue and events marketing manager Natasha Carr commented: “Sean and Jenny both bring considerable skill and expertise to the team and will be invaluable in helping us build the business, while ensuring our corporate and leisure clients continue to receive the highest possible standard of service.”
