Property consultancy Cluttons has appointed Claire Collins as head of block management.

With over a decade of experience in the sector, Claire’s previous roles include head of property management at Currell Management, senior property manager at Braemar Estates and block property manager at Burlington Estates.

John Gravett, head of real estate management at Cluttons commented: “Claire has a long track record in block management and joins Cluttons at a time when there is growing demand for expertise in this area.

“She is another strategic hire as we develop and grow the business.”

Andrew Soane, Vail Williams

Property specialist Vail Williams has appointed Andrew Soane as surveyor.

A property development graduate from the University of Portsmouth, joins the firm from Rushmoor Borough Council in Hampshire where spent the last four years.

Andrew brings with him experience of working on office, retail and industrial properties for local authorities, and joins as a Surveyor Level 2 - working towards achieving his APC qualification to become a chartered surveyor.

Geoff Fallon, Vail Williams’ regional managing partner for Surrey, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome the support of Andrew, who will be assisting our busy valuation team in Surrey.

“His experience working on varied caseloads on behalf of the council’s property portfolio will be very helpful indeed.”

Speaking of his appointment, Andrew added: “Vail Williams is well-known for its regional expertise in Surrey but is a rare breed in the market in the sense that it provides the full spectrum of property advice.

“So, the prospect of being able to work on all manner of projects, including residential developments and offices, to industrial, retail and leisure, was an attractive one, which, together with the firm’s support for my training ambitions, made it an exciting opportunity for me.”

Martyn Scrivens, RateSetter

Peer-to-peer lending platform RateSetter has appointed Martyn Scrivens as non-executive director and chair of the board risk committee.

With experience in audit and risk management spanning four decades, Martyn has held senior roles at the likes of Credit Suisse Group, Lloyds Banking Group and professional services firm Arthur Andersen.

Martyn also serves as non-executive director at Yeovil District Hospital, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and chairs the Institute’s Internal Audit Advisory Panel.

Martyn commented: “RateSetter stands out with its unique model, strong reputation for risk management and unrivalled track record of delivering for customers.

“It is very exciting to join such an innovative and dynamic business and I look forward to working with my new Board colleagues on the next stage of RateSetter’s growth.”

Andrew Roberts, Haydock Finance

Financial firm Haydock Finance has appointed Andrew Roberts as asset manager.

In this newly created role, Andrew will be responsible for determining a clear asset strategy along with the management, compliance & valuation of all assets financed by the company.

With over 17 years of experience in the industry, Andrew has worked at Alliance & Leicester and most recently Santander UK, where he held the position of asset manager for 9 years.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: “This newly created opportunity to join a highly respected and expanding business in the Hard Asset space, was one I couldn’t ignore.

“I am very much looking forward to contributing towards asset strategy at a time when Haydock embarks on a period of significant expansion, growth and diversification.”

Ian Barr, credit & risk director at Haydock Finance, added: “We are delighted to have Andy join our team.

Su Doggett and Carl Simmonds, HKS

Architectural practice HKS has appointed Su Doggett and Carl Simmonds as principal and director – hospitality interiors and design director - hospitality interiors respectively.

Su has worked across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Indonesia as principal, in charge of a variety of hospitality projects including the Four Seasons Bodrum, the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, the Langham Sydney and the St Regis Osaka.

With over 20 years’ experience specialising in hospitality design. Carl has worked on a range of new build hotel developments, and was recently lead designer on The Mandarin Oriental Dubai, The Langham Hong Kong and the St Regis Langkawi.

Commenting on the new appointments Kevin Underwood, head of hospitality, said: “At HKS, we believe in taking an integrated approach to interior design, bringing together interior designers with architects, urban designers and other disciplines, to create spectacular schemes for our clients around the world.
