Accountant colleagues success in leadership programme
Three members of the Clive Owen LLP teams in Darlington and Middlesbrough have successfully completed a leadership development programme through the prestigious Leadership Management International (LMI).
Mike Boynton, assistant tax manager completed the qualification alongside Louise Keetley and Helen Robinson, who work as part of the Managed Services Department.
After seeing year-on-year growth, the chartered accountants and business advisers recognised the need to upskill its future leaders through a programme which focuses on the development of leadership qualities.
The programme was supported by leadership coach, Neale Carter of Redworth Coaching, and involved one-to-one sessions and group presentations to colleagues and the partnership team, allowing the managers to demonstrate what they had learned throughout the process, and how they can put these skills into use going forward. The firm believes that it’s now more relevant than ever to help retain and attract talented team members. Clive Owen LLP has made personal development initiatives available at all levels across the firm to deliver soft skills in addition to their dedicated commitment to professional training. Leadership skills, such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness and having the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues are equally important as professional qualifications to the success of the firm.
Louise Keetley, manager in the Managed Services Department said, “The course has been particularly valuable to me at this stage of my career helping me develop my leadership skills to support the team I have around me, many of which are just starting to forge their careers”.
Ian Jarvis, partner and head of the Managed Services team said: “We’re so proud to be able to support the development of individuals within the business. Developing their leadership skills is essential to enable people to provide support and care for other members of the team around them. Clive Owen LLP has always valued individual leadership training as part of the firm’s growth map. This is paired with development opportunities for all colleagues across the business.” Neale Carter, of Redworth Coaching who coaches colleagues through the programme, said: “I’ve supported the Clive Owen LLP team since 2006, and I continue to be impressed with the performance of colleagues across the firm. It’s great to see Clive Owen as a business investing in the leadership development of its team, showing the commitment of the partnership. “The programme helps individuals develop the skills and mindset needed to lead effectively including emotional intelligence, self-confidence and self-motivation. These skills are complimentary to their technical knowledge. Well done to all of those who have completed this programme.”
