Law firm expands with Granite City office move

A law firm has expanded with an office opening.

Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP has opened an Aberdeen base.

Bosses say the Marischal Square office will specialise in private client services, revealing they plan to create jobs over the coming months to support the venture’s growth.

Its private client team has joined Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP under an agreed transfer from Burness Paull, with partners Colin McKenzie and Fiona Clarke leading a six-strong team.

Fraser Gillies, managing partner at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP, which already operates offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Dunblane and Galashiels, said: “This is an exciting development and a great step forward for our firm.

“We anticipate more demand than ever this year in the private client sphere, driven by a number of factors from inheritance tax changes to regulatory changes.

“Our new base in the Granite City will ensure we have even more experts available across a wider area.”

Peter Lawson, Burness Paull chair, added: “We are grateful for the many years of excellent service our private client team have provided to our firm and our clients.

“They transfer to Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP with our very best wishes.”
