Arman Tahmassebi, LendInvest

Property and lending finance platform LendInvest has appointed Arman Tahmassebi as its new chief operating officer.

Arman brings a range of experience with him including 15 years at FTSE 250 constituent IG Group, where he rose from graduate position to Global Head of Operations, working in several senior management roles within the company’s technology, business development and operations departments.

Following IG Group, Arman worked at retail trading technology company ETX Capital, joining as chief commercial officer and progressing to chief operating officer.

Christian Faes, co-founder & CEO of LendInvest, explained: “We have known Arman for a number of years, and have been keen to get him involved in our business.

“Arman’s experience with growing and operating a best-in-class technology business like IG Group is invaluable for LendInvest.”

Paul Staples, Sandaire

As part of the launch of Sandaire Corporate Finance, multi-family company Sandaire has appointed Paul Staples as managing director.

With over 30 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience, Paul joins the company from Deloitte where he held the position of senior partner.

Before this he served as head of UK corporate finance and was a member of the management committee in BNP Paribas’ Investment Banking arm.

In his new role, Paul will be responsible for leading and growing the team at the newly launched Sandaire Corporate Finance firm, which specialises in independent financial advice.

Chairman of Sandaire, Warwick Newbury, commented:“We have ambitious plans to grow and diversify our offering over the next five years, and we look forward to working closely with Paul to drive further growth and continually enhance our service with a unity of purpose.”

Speaking about his new appointment, Paul said: “I am excited to join Sandaire as it enters an exciting new phase of development.”

Mark Edge, CybSafe

Cyber security and data analytics specialist CybSafe has appointed Mark Edge as chief revenue officer.

With a background in the IT software industry, Mark brings his knowledge of tech security to the new role. He has previously worked for companies such as IBM, Citrix, A10 Networks, WatchDox and Brainloop.

In his new role Mark will be primarily involved in developing partnerships to build the company’s UK & Ireland business, while leveraging partnerships to drive business globally.

Oz Alashe MBE, CEO of CybSafe explained: “Attracting someone of Mark’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement of CybSafe’s product.

“He brings with him incredibly strong knowledge and experience in the channel which will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop partners in this area.”

Gareth Hoskin, Saga

Products and services specialist for over-50s Saga has appointed Gareth Hoskin as non-executive director.

Originally trained as an accountant at PwC, Gareth joins Saga from Legal & General where he held a range of roles over 20 years.

His most recent position of CEO International involved overseeing Legal & General operations in the US, Europe, Middle East, India and Far East.

In addition to his new role at Saga, Gareth is also audit chair and senior independent director (subject to regulatory approval) at Leeds Building Society, as well as trustee, non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committees at Diabetes UK.

Saga chairman Patrick O’Sullivan said: “We are delighted that Gareth will be joining the Board of Saga.

“We will benefit from his diverse experience at Legal & General across Saga’s businesses and particularly as we continue to develop our insurance business in today’s market.”

Neil Slaven, easyJet

UK airline easyJet has appointed Neil Slaven as its new UK country director.

Having been with the company since 2011, Neil has worked across a range of departments including network development and airport procurement, in addition to overseeing commercial activities in London.

Reporting to group markets director Thomas Haagensen, Neil’s new role will involve driving the strategic direction and commercial success of easyJet in the UK, working closely with teams across the airline’s 11 bases across the country.

Speaking about Neil’s appointment, Thomas explained: “Neil has a wealth of knowledge of easyJet especially in the UK market and has a track record in delivering commercially-focused improvements.”

Neil added: “I am delighted to be working in this key role for easyJet. As the UK’s largest airline easyJet plays an important role in the UK aviation industry and I look forward to working with all our stakeholders as we continue to grow and invest in the UK.”
